Our Mission Statement

When children start Nursery, they bring with them their own experiences, their imagination, their curiosity and a range of skills in the process of development.

We aim to ensure all children:

  • Bring an optimistic attitude to learning and a positive image of themselves.

  • Experience success and satisfaction in learning and have the time and opportunity to develop particular interests and skills.

  • Become active and independent thinkers, who learn by handling real objects and by experiencing real situations.

  • Play, investigate and explore, in order to make sense of the world around them, whilst avoiding stereotypical role models.

  • Have opportunities to develop their thought processes and communicate their ideas to others.

  • Have the time and the opportunity to develop socially and emotionally, building relationships with both children and adults, and encouraged to show consideration for others.

  • Develop responsibility for their own actions, and an understanding of boundaries with the Nursery.

  • Have opportunities to develop early reading and writing skills.

  • Have access to a wide range of materials in order to develop mathematical, scientific and creative thinking.

  • Have the opportunity to develop physical skills.

  • Understand that cultural diversity is valued and respected, both within our Nursery and the wider community and we actively reinforce British Values.
